31 Day Blog Challenge: Meaning of My Blog Name

I’ve replaced “business” with “blog” because Mint Tea and Elephants isn’t a business. Maybe it will be one day and you’ll be buying my T-shirts and bumper stickers (hehehe) but today is not that day.

I tend to over think important personal decisions and the name of this blog was no different. I had scribbled several possibilities in a notebook that I’d dedicated to “blog things”. I would say those scribbles out loud to myself to see if they were sexy or not. A blogging course I’d done had advised bloggers to include what their websites would be about in the name. Since I was, and still am, without a niche, I decided to use two things that I love love love as the name of the blog.

I love the taste and smell of mint tea. A friend of mine jokes that I don’t drink in tea cups, I have tea bowls. They’re that large.

I adore and collect elephants. Wood, fabric, stone, plastic, matters not to me what the elephant is made of, I will love it forever.

Hand-carved elephant from Botswana that a dear friend gave to me.

I’m happy to report that the name of the blog was a hit with family, friends and well-wishers. They so easily identified me with one or both that the name made sense to them. If that ain’t success, I don’t know what is.
